The answer is both yes and no, depending on exactly <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">how<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you will dispose of your car. If your intent is to sell it to a scrap car removal service, then the short answer is no. If you intend to store, repair, and drive it again someday, then the answer is yes. However, it is always good practice to verify that your title of ownership has been transferred to the car\u2019s new owners (i.e. the scrap car removal company).<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scenario 2: Your Car is Repaired and Sold as Used<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you or the scrap car removal company has repaired your scrap car and will be reselling it for intended road-use, you\u2019ll need to be strategic about canceling your scrap car insurance. So if ownership has been completely transferred, feel free to call your scrap car insurance provider to cancel your service or switch it to your new car.<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scenario 3: Your Car is Donated<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are donating your car to a scrap car removal service and\/or charitable institution that intends to drive it, you must again be strategic about your scrap car insurance. Once ownership of the car has been <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">legally<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fully<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> transferred, you can call your insurance company to cancel or transfer your coverage to your new car.
